Exotic Blooms invites drag performers to interpret dramatic blooms featured in the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Placing these talented and fabulous performers among the flowers that they are inspired by, Exotic Blooms offers a self-guided walking tour that creatively celebrates one of Tāmaki-Makaurau/Auckland’s most amazing parks. QR codes at each stop offer further information about the blooms, while also offering participants a multi-sensory learning experience. Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage's Cultural Installations and Events Fund.

    Since the installation will be spaced out within the gardens to avoid crowding they are being planned to allow for 1 metre distancing and will take place at all levels of the Protection Framework. The garden staff have lots of experience about how to manage all protection levels as they have been providing a safe recreational area during 2021's lockdowns.
