Rialto Channel is proud to be screening a handpicked selection of pride films to celebrate and acknowledge LGBT+ communities alongside the Auckland Pride Festival in February 2022.

SUPERNOVA (UK) - SATURDAY 5 FEBRUARY, 8.30PM. A heart-rending modern love story about a couple struggling with a diagnosis of early-onset dementia. Starring Oscar Winner Colin Firth, Oscar Nominee Stanley Tucci.
WELCOME TO CHECHNYA (RUSSIA) - FRIDAY 4 FEBRUARY, 8.30PM. there are no homosexuals. That is what the tyrannical leader Ramzan Kadyrov has decided. Here we follow a group of activists who risk their lives to save LGBTQ + people who are threatened, detained, tortured, and executed in Chechnya. Nominated for a Prime Time Emmy.
LIGHT IN THE WATER (USA) - FRIDAY 11 FEBRUARY, 8.30PM. In 1982, soon after the first Gay Games, West Hollywood Swim Club, as it was known then, registered as the first openly gay masters swim and water polo club.
ARE YOU PROUD? (UK) - FRIDAY 18 FEBRUARY, 8.30PM. Are You Proud? combines rare archive footage and interviews across a spectrum of historical campaigns, while current activists in the UK celebrate the LGBTQ+ Pride movement's landmark achievements.
LITTLE GIRL (FRANCE) - FRIDAY 25 FEBRUARY, 8.30PM. Little Girl is the moving portrait of a little boy, 7-year-old Sasha, who has always known she is a girl.
The celebration includes a collection of PRIDE films, which will screen throughout the month.
