Fern Ngatai

“Mā pāngo, mā whero, ka oti te mahi” - With black and with red, the work the work is completed. This is a whakatauki (Māori proverb) inspires all of Fern Ngatai’s pattern work. 

A descendant of Ngāti Porou and Tainui, proudly raised in West Auckland, Ranui - Fern Ngatai considers herself as an Urban Māori. With a practice dedicated to our whānau whānui, & our more-than-human relations, Fern solely works with ink on skin or paper. Studying to become a Ringatā at Sunset Tattoo, Fern is quickly becoming a first choice amongst our Takatāpui & Wāhine Māori within the CBD.
